scavenger hunt: jan 30

1. texture – This is a very close macro of some moss. From farther away it looks like a beautiful green carpet and it’s velvety smooth to the touch.

2. fog – I went way back in my archives to find a fog photo and actually, it’s not even really fog.  It’s steam coming off one of the hot springs in Yellowstone back in 2007.  See how little the boys were back then!  This trip is the reason I bought my first dslr, although I did leave it on auto for over two years.

3. button – A jar of colorful buttons that I keep on my desk.

4. beverage/drink – a photo that I also used for foto friday’s reflections theme because I like the way the flowers from the placemat are reflected back onto the cup.

5. seventies – My grandmother made this very seventies looking afghan for me when I was ten in 1976.  Back then, I thought it was kind of ugly.  I tried really hard to look appreciative and like I liked it when she gave it to me.  After 30 years, it’s finally grown on me and now I think it’s quite lovely.

  7. I love the blanket your Grandma made you in 1976. My Grandma had one almost exactly like that. I was born that year : )
Your coffee mug shot is incredible. I LOVE the reflection also. Very funky! : ) That almost reminds me of the 70's. Those puffly flowers. Beautiful!

Love your button jar. What a beautiful thing to look at every day. I absolutely LOVE it!

Your pictures are always beautiful Deb. You do amazing work! Have a great week. Love, Becky

  8. Lovely photos Deb. I made my hubby to be one of those blankets back in the 80's - I found crochet easier to do than knitting.

I was going to do moss aswell as a texture as I think it just is like velvet and so soft just like what you've achieved in your photo.

Yellowstone is somewhere I would love to visit - in the 70's my favourite cartoon was Yogi Bear and that's where I first learned about Yellowstone.

  20. LOVE your "seventies" afghan. My mom made lots of those and so did my great-grandmother. Your button shot is just brilliant. I took a bunch of photos of moss last year since we had some growing in our yard - I kind of miss it, it makes awesome macro shots.
