baby birds

A couple of weeks ago I posted this photo of a nest with eggs that we found at Gary’s parents’ house.  The mama bird had made her nest inside of their grill.

When we peeked inside last weekend this is what we found -  five brand new baby birds.

After they heard my camera click, they started opening their mouths as wide as they could.

They were so tiny and obviously very hungry.  I hope it didn’t take the mama too long to get back with the next meal. :)

  12. these are the kind of shots you live for! Too bad about their grill being taken over for a while, but judging by these captures, so well worth it!

  13. Adorable! We had some wrens fledge recently... it was cool watching the whole process... the building of the nest... the tiny peeps from the nest and finally watching them fly away.

  20. These photos are amazing! We have two nests in the wreath on our front porch. At first I could see eggs, but now it seems that the mama has repositioned them so they are not photograph-able - how about THAT?
