We spent last weekend in Destin, Florida. The sand is so white and the water is the most beautiful shade of blue. The guys had a blast playing in the waves and throwing the football on the beach. I enjoyed relaxing a little and taking a lot of pics. We all laughed a lot and had fun being together so it really was a fabulous time!
Most of these photos were taken with my new lens, the 200mm 2.8L II. It was perfect for getting shots from a distance and I love the results. The telephoto focal length not only blurs the background, but also brings it in closer to the subject.
Do you see what I mean? In this series of shots the water looks like it's right in front of them as they run toward the ocean. It's funny how they are in perfect step in all three!
And then they spent the rest of the time either playing in the waves, throwing the football or walking on the beach.
This is the one shot that I took with my 50mm. You can see how the background of the buildings looks farther away and less blurred even though the aperture was at 3.2 here and the previous photo was taken at 4.5, but with the 200mm.
They spent a total of about five minutes sitting. And then they were up and running around again. I sure can't keep up with them!
