cupcakes

I discovered something new at the mall last weekend~ a lovely little shop called Cupcake Couture.

Their cupcakes are beautiful and they sound delicious with flavors like wedding cake, bananas foster and white chocolate strawberry just to name a few. They were kind to let me take a few photos of their delightful displays while I was there.

I'm sure photographing them and playing with the images in photoshop was just as much fun as eating one would have been. Okay... maybe not. Next time I'll get one. But, I did have fun using a Kim Klassen texture on these two images. I added the golden texture at 100% soft light, and then duplicated the layer at 25% opacity.

  19. How wonderful that they let you get up close and photograph their cupcakes, that was very nice of them. We have a fabulous cupcake shop here that does some amazing creations but I've never dared ask if I can photograph them. Maybe now I will!

Great photos - the banana cupcake shot being my favorite!

  20. Those look scrumptious...and I think I just gained 10lbs...LOL! It was really cool of them to let you take photos. You did a fabulous job too. I love the use of the texture, sort of gave it that vintage feel to them.

  21. Oh man- I am so lucky that I DON"T have a place like that close by me. I would be in there every day & I would have to buy new pants all the time because I would be outgrowing them at record pace. I love cupcakes sooooo much. I have to use a lot of restraint to not have them in the house at all times.

You captured them so well that I may lose all self control today & make some.

  30. They look delicious. I haven't seen anything like that locally (although I haven't looked). Is the top section marshmallow or a thick icing of some sort?
