i like autumn

There is a wonderful new trail behind my boys' school. I went on a walk with my macro lens hoping to find some fall color. Now if I only showed you my macro photos you may think that Louisiana has a colorful autumn, but that's not really so. True, we do have a few trees here and there whose leaves change to beautiful autumn colors, but for the most part there is still lots of green in the woods.



You can find the color if you look real close.

I have to ask... does my post title make anyone else think of that Barney song? Even after 10 years that song is still stuck in my head!

    These are fabulous photos. There is nothing wrong with 'green', but it's just not fall with out the colors. Glad you could find some. And yes...it does make me think of that Barney song!!! :o) Grateful to have stopped by today.

    Gorgeous colours. You inspire me to pick up my macro lens again. I haven't touched it in a while and it must feel very neglected! :-)

    I don't know that barney song and am tempted to google and find out. I'm not sure if that's a wise idea though, hearing you can't get it out of your head anymore...

    I'm still patiently waiting for all our oaks to turn yellow.

    I did not think of Barney, surprisingly, since my oldest was a HUGE Barney fan when he was little. For some reason though that one is not ringing a bell. Bet I'd remember it if I heard it though. He wore those Barney tapes OUT!

    Deb, these photos are beautiful. I love the you were able to find some great colors in your Louisianna town!

    It's photos like these that really make me want to shell out the big bucks to buy a DSLR and a macro lense. They are so stunning.

    We don't have a lot of fall color here either. But you found some and got some great shots! Love the bits of bokeh. Wonderful texture too.

    Your are not alone with your 'green' autumn. I spotted some color this past weekend but I'm still on the 'hunt' for some lush colors.

    These are wonderful photos...don't you just love that macro?! Mine is fairly new and I find I'm using it more than any other lens I own.
    My favorite...the path. This one makes me want to take a stroll right into the photo!

And yes, we still have a lot of green here as well, but with a few more vibrant colors than usual this year. Your images are breathtaking, Deb ... oh, the treasures we can find off the beaten path! Next lens on my list is a macro, too. You captured Autumn so very well! So beautiful, and such crisp detail! I love Autumn, too, but honestly, I missed that Barney song!     Well, since I'm your neighbor in Texas AND on the gulf, color around here in the leaves is very hard to find. Now flowers here in the winter - YES!! Gotta love that . . .

    Ah, a macro lens... I'm hoping that Santa may bring me one of those- even though I expect the delivery date may be 2014. It's it's usual pleasure to visit your blog and see your lovely photos- particularly love your first two.

    Well the autumn has well and truly arrived for me and I too have been looking for the pretty... My last blog post was dedicated to the gorgeous colours and changing palette of autumn right now.
    I would love a macro lens but just about getting by without one.... Until christmas when I hope Santa will agree I've been quite a good girl this year. :-)
