There is a wonderful new trail behind my boys' school. I went on a walk with my macro lens hoping to find some fall color. Now if I only showed you my macro photos you may think that Louisiana has a colorful autumn, but that's not really so. True, we do have a few trees here and there whose leaves change to beautiful autumn colors, but for the most part there is still lots of green in the woods.
You can find the color if you look real close.

I have to ask... does my post title make anyone else think of that Barney song? Even after 10 years that song is still stuck in my head!
Looks beautiful - and I SO want a macro lense! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and awesome. Fabulous job.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous photos. There is nothing wrong with 'green', but it's just not fall with out the colors. Glad you could find some. And yes...it does make me think of that Barney song!!! :o) Grateful to have stopped by today.
ReplyDeletePretty fall color and macros.
ReplyDeleteSame here. So much green but you can find colors here and there. Such gorgeous shots Deb.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours. You inspire me to pick up my macro lens again. I haven't touched it in a while and it must feel very neglected! :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know that barney song and am tempted to google and find out. I'm not sure if that's a wise idea though, hearing you can't get it out of your head anymore...
Just wonderful ! Beautiful texture work and amazing details.
ReplyDeleteI'm still patiently waiting for all our oaks to turn yellow.
ReplyDeleteI did not think of Barney, surprisingly, since my oldest was a HUGE Barney fan when he was little. For some reason though that one is not ringing a bell. Bet I'd remember it if I heard it though. He wore those Barney tapes OUT!
Deb, these photos are beautiful. I love the you were able to find some great colors in your Louisianna town!
ReplyDeleteIt's photos like these that really make me want to shell out the big bucks to buy a DSLR and a macro lense. They are so stunning.
We don't have a lot of fall color here either. But you found some and got some great shots! Love the bits of bokeh. Wonderful texture too.
ReplyDeleteDeb, these are some stunning shots! Love those leaves! You could make note cards with your pictures! All I can say is w-o-W.
ReplyDeleteWhat Barney song? But I do love these photos...because I love autumn too!
ReplyDeleteYou DO have to look close. Over all it's still extremely green. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the focus on that last shot!
I love these autumn colors, a delightful walk through the woods. Delicious photos have a really lovely light. I like the leaves.
ReplyDeletelove your macro shots, but it is nice to see the entire woods too!

For not having any color you did manage to find some beautiful fall color. Really stunning shots!!
ReplyDeleteYour are not alone with your 'green' autumn. I spotted some color this past weekend but I'm still on the 'hunt' for some lush colors.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful photos...don't you just love that macro?! Mine is fairly new and I find I'm using it more than any other lens I own.
My favorite...the path. This one makes me want to take a stroll right into the photo!
Thank you so much for dropping by and leaving a comment ... it was so encouraging to me! And yes, we still have a lot of green here as well, but with a few more vibrant colors than usual this year. Your images are breathtaking, Deb ... oh, the treasures we can find off the beaten path! Next lens on my list is a macro, too. You captured Autumn so very well! So beautiful, and such crisp detail! I love Autumn, too, but honestly, I missed that Barney song! My son was past that stage when he showed up in all his purple-ness! Lol!! Thanks again, and you have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteThese shots are great. You do make it look like Louisiana has more fall colors than it does. ;) These shots are great and so crisp and sharp. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI just love reading these posts, because I can relate.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, Bennett and I were walking when I saw 5-10 leaves that had changed. I thought I should run home and get my camera.......
Love your blog. Thanks to your article on magnifying filters I am now awaiting delivery of mine. Can't wait to try them out! They may not be as good as a macro lens but better than nothing :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous pictures! love the color :)
ReplyDeleteLove the golden leaves -- beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd about the Barney song, my boys never watched Barney -- too old I guess. :)
lovely set, think the first one is my favorite. Just makes me want to get up and wander.
ReplyDeleteWell, since I'm your neighbor in Texas AND on the gulf, color around here in the leaves is very hard to find. Now flowers here in the winter - YES!! Gotta love that . . .
ReplyDeleteBeautiful walk!
I want to just sit on that pathway and soak in the beauty. Gorgeous find!
ReplyDeleteKathy
great shots ... makes me want to get my macro out and use it!
ReplyDeleteAh, a macro lens... I'm hoping that Santa may bring me one of those- even though I expect the delivery date may be 2014. It's it's usual pleasure to visit your blog and see your lovely photos- particularly love your first two.
ReplyDeleteWe still have a lot of green here as well... Looking for the colors is half the fun :) Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning- I love the first one- it seems like a place I would just enjoy being lost in.
ReplyDeleteLove, love LOVE your shots!
ReplyDeletePure gorgeousness! I love that path . . .
ReplyDeleteWell the autumn has well and truly arrived for me and I too have been looking for the pretty... My last blog post was dedicated to the gorgeous colours and changing palette of autumn right now.
ReplyDeleteI would love a macro lens but just about getting by without one.... Until christmas when I hope Santa will agree I've been quite a good girl this year. :-)
those leaves shots are so crisp and beautifully shown off... Truly lovely shots Deb. x
Beautiful fall colors! You are making my "need" for a macro lens even greater! :)
