And there was a campfire...
Here's another try at the photo I posted yesterday of Mason and his friend by the fire. I think it looks better brightened up a bit.
We were glued to the tv for the game. It was a close one, but LSU came out on top in overtime.
Whether you are an LSU fan or not, you have to admit we have one really cute cheerleader!
If you are wondering about these photos, I took them all with my 50mm 1.4. I had to keep my iso at 2000 and my aperture wide open to be able to take the shots in low light without a flash.
Great shots without a flash. Love the cheerleader. TV outside is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds quite exciting to be able to watch telly outside. You must still have quite warm weather there. It's a bit chilly here brrrr.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are looking great especially with no flash. And you wee cheerleader is sooooo cute.
Glad you had a nice time. :))
Wow! Great photos! Cute cheerleader ~ Boys eyes under the campfire are awesome! Outside Tv? ~ LOL ~ I live in MA and football season is rather chilly ~ you must live in a warm area ~ Fun! ~
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and love the outside TV.
ReplyDeleteI'd never thought of doing this,
but my sister-in-law and her husband
were showing classic scary movies and cartoons at their recent Halloween party.
This was a big hit with everyone.
And the Indiana weather was definitely chilly.
Love the pics, looks like a great time! :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely photo's.. Looks like fun family time.. :))
ReplyDeleteLovely shots.. I have yet to try taking photos in manual mode.. your shots really look superb even though there is low light.
ReplyDeleteLooks as if you had a great time, and what a way to create good family memories. Out watching an exciting game in front of a bonfire, with your own cheerleader. Glad you had a great time DEB
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time, TV outside!! We are still on a no burn ban because of the drought here so no campfires for us! : (
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots, and I do love her socks!!
Looks like a great night and love the cheerleader outfit, so cute :)
ReplyDeleteShe's a darling cheerleader!
ReplyDeletethat's a perfect place to watch football (or tv of any kind!)
ReplyDeleteThese turned out really well and yes, that game was CLOSE! ;)
ReplyDeletea tv outside?!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to watch TV outside! And how did you know that I was wondering what settings you used (-:
ReplyDeletewhat cute children!
ReplyDeletelove all of those shots!
gorgeous composition and shadows!!
nicely done:)
That looks like so much fun! I'd love to watch a game outside. We aren't LSU fans, but we had fun watching the big game...such a nailbiter!
ReplyDeleteWe are Notre Dame fans and I can imagine that my husband would love to watch a game outside...hmm wondering how I could make that happen...
Great job Deb! My camera could never pull off that kinda iso! It would be so grainy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a game!!
And yes, she is just the cutest♥
Fabulous family shots. Great job with the exposure under difficult lighting.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the specs. I was actually just wondering what you shot them at. The depth of field looks great for being at 1.4 aperture. You got a lot of the shot in focus. Fantastic job in such low light conditions!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an awesome night and yes that is the cutest little cheerleader ever!
ReplyDeleteWell done with taking photos without the flash(Karen russell would be mightily proud of you). Like the tv outside concept!
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots of a wonderful family time! I am so jealous of the tv outside. :)

These photos are wonderful. Your 'snapshots' are like most other people's 'photo of the year' :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the bonfire -- there's something so "autumn" about them. Great shots, Deb.
ReplyDeleteI love the shots you take with no flash in low light! Where are al the ladies when boys are glued to TV. Apart from taking photos ;)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the glow on everyones faces..you really get a feel for the night! & wow, there's like no noise for using such a high iso...awsome!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAs a Georgia Bulldog fan, I am very happy LSU pulled out a win. What a game!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome! Now I really know why I want to upgrade my DSLR...
ReplyDeleteI really love them. Great shots. Looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun evening. Your shots are clear and great. Thanks for sharing the settings.
ReplyDeleteThat would be so much fun. We watched the Super Bowl outside a few years ago and had a fire....it was a neat experience, but the coldest weekend Florida had in years :)
ReplyDeleteI do think the shot look better brightened up a bit. I like seeing more of the detail of their hair and environment. Great job in low lighting. I wish my shots looked that good at iso 2000. My camera doesn't handle that high iso very well.
thanks for that last sentence. i WAS wondering! :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a cute cheerleader! Looks like a great time!
