the big game

We had a great time watching LSU football Saturday night with some of our favorite people. I love going to my brother in law's house for games because we get to watch tv outside. It's so much fun!

And there was a campfire...

Here's another try at the photo I posted yesterday of Mason and his friend by the fire. I think it looks better brightened up a bit.

We were glued to the tv for the game. It was a close one, but LSU came out on top in overtime.

Whether you are an LSU fan or not, you have to admit we have one really cute cheerleader!

If you are wondering about these photos, I took them all with my 50mm 1.4. I had to keep my iso at 2000 and my aperture wide open to be able to take the shots in low light without a flash.

  2. It sounds quite exciting to be able to watch telly outside. You must still have quite warm weather there. It's a bit chilly here brrrr.
Your pictures are looking great especially with no flash. And you wee cheerleader is sooooo cute.
Glad you had a nice time. :))

  4. Love the photos and love the outside TV.
I'd never thought of doing this,
but my sister-in-law and her husband
were showing classic scary movies and cartoons at their recent Halloween party.
This was a big hit with everyone.
And the Indiana weather was definitely chilly.

  16. Great job Deb! My camera could never pull off that kinda iso! It would be so grainy.

  18. Thanks for sharing the specs. I was actually just wondering what you shot them at. The depth of field looks great for being at 1.4 aperture. You got a lot of the shot in focus. Fantastic job in such low light conditions!

  30. That would be so much fun. We watched the Super Bowl outside a few years ago and had a fire....it was a neat experience, but the coldest weekend Florida had in years :)

I do think the shot look better brightened up a bit. I like seeing more of the detail of their hair and environment. Great job in low lighting. I wish my shots looked that good at iso 2000. My camera doesn't handle that high iso very well.
