road trip

We took advantage of the day off Monday with a little road trip to visit a plantation home (which I'll be sharing soon).  My two favorite shots of the day were of my boys on the levee at the Mississippi River.

I took this one with my 24-105mm lens at 24mm. I'm really loving the wide angle lately.
 f/4, iso 200 and ss 1/3200
And once they were at the top, I pulled out my iphone for a pic and added an instagram filter... I don't remember which one, maybe amaro or rise? If anyone knows an app that will tell you which filter you used, let me know. That would be handy.

I'm thinking we need to go back to this spot in a couple months when the grass is green on a day when the sky is a vivid blue with just a few white puffy clouds here and there. I can just picture it...

ETA: Thank you to Rosie for letting me know about Webstagram! This site labels each photo in your stream with the filter used. I used rise above, which apparently is my most used filter.

  16. I love both shots but really like the instagram one for the vintagey feel to it. Your boys are lucky that you are documenting their lives. I wish I discovered photography when my kids were younger.
