the jeep

This little guy used to love driving his Uncle Brent's jeep.

And now, many years later, Alec finally has his own jeep. He is one happy fellow...

It's been a fun time. I found out that I actually enjoy riding around with the top down. I thought I was too old and mature to enjoy such things... but I guess not. :)

  3. I love that your boys don't shy away from the camera. I wish my kids were like that. How exciting that Alex has his own car. My son turns 16 this May and doesn't even have his permit yet. He's in no rush and neither is his mom :)

  6. That is a cool car - Alec must be very excited about having it. I know my husband would have loved a jeep - still would in fact. Hope he has lots of fun in it.

  11. I don't think I'll ever be too old to enjoy riding in a Jeep....top down/off. Actually, I think with each year, I become more and more comfortable with myself {meaning, I never would have put my hair in a pony tail back in the 80's or in a bun, for that matter - which is a must do when riding through the wind} ;)

I'm happy for him! His very OWN JEEP. Awesome.

  16. Champ's second car (so our college ride) was a Geo Tracker- like a matchbox sized jeep- and we loved it!!!! The warmer months were that much more exciting to drive around in with the top down. Happy driving Alec!

  17. I am so impressed that he can drive a stick! And that is one cool ride!! My first (and only so far) car was a saab convertible, but the top got stuck if I took it down, not great in January in New Jersey! Hope he drives it in good health!

  18. What fun...we ended up with a Subaru. First car memories. When did I get old enough to have a son that can drive? It all goes by so fast.

  24. Congrats Alec! That's a beautiful color!! If there is such a thing as a specific-car-person, I am a Jeep person. I love Alec's new car!

  25. That is sooooooo exciting!!!! I love that he's a Jeeper!! We are big on Jeep here. My in-laws actually started the Jeepers group out in CA that started trailing the Rubicon. We have a Cherokee Sport that has been in my family for so long- my brothers & I used to ride in the back as kids out to the river to spend the weekend on the boat. It's now mine & we are restoring it so it will be my son's in 2 years. I think it's so cool that he wants his first car to be the one that has so much history- including him coming home from the hospital in it.
