These were all taken with my 24-105 f/4.0L. I love that lens when I want a wide angle. I would prefer a wider aperture, but sometimes when I'm taking shots like these I have a tendency to stop down too far and end up with more of the shot out of focus than I want. So having to stay at 4.0 is a good thing... sometimes.

louisiana crawfish
One of the best things about living in Louisiana is the food. There is a lot of delicious cuisine... especially the crawfish. We had a crawfish boil recently and it was such a fun time! They were so spicy and delicious. The only bad thing is that they are so messy. It makes it hard to get a few pictures and eat at the same time!

These are great shots. I have the same problem when I use my 2.8. I'm getting better at not going all the way open, but it is difficult. Practice makes perfect.
ReplyDeleteman, that looks like a mess o' fun. :)
ReplyDeleteThese look yummy done with the corn and potatoes. I like the little guy who is holding one of these "mud bugs" so gingerly by the tentacle. Going to have to be a bit more aggressive to get much meat out of that. Looks like a fun family get together!
ReplyDeleteYum!!!!!! I haven't had any this season. Will soon. Can't wait! :) :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!
I've never seen a crawfish boil feast! Looks like an amazing time and your photography is perfection as usual.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos but could never touch a crawfish, I guess I must have some phobia or something :)
ReplyDeleteHoly MOly that's alot of crawfish! I have to tell ya..I've NEVER had one because they intimidate me. I wouldn't even know WHERE to start to try to eat one!
ReplyDeleteLove this! It looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteAwww...crawfish! One of the funniest things about Louisiana. We have crawfish boils here in Texas too, but I don't think they're quite as popular here as they are there. I think I'd like them more if they weren't so dang messy! Ha! Looks like y'all had a great time! And fabulous photos as always!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures and thanks for sharing the lens info!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of crawfish. For sure a Southern thing, not to mention the kosher issue prevents me from partaking, but I can look at the gorgeous pictures and wish I could have some corn on the cob (once my braces come off!)!
ReplyDeletefantastic shots. Those look YUM! I want some now Love crawfish!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots! And I like reading what lens you used and your thoughts about it. Thanks for sharing. :)
