project life: week 30

Week 30 was the week of Alec's 17th birthday so there were lots of photos to choose from. I was trying to make sure I documented it just right so that he would remember all the fun things he did that day. I think it took me a little longer than it usually does. It was worth it though! He'll thank me one day. Or maybe he won't care. But either way I'm so glad I have this. :)

  7. I can't imagine my little one turning 3 (only a year away) never mind 17! It's amazing really just thinking about it. It's so wonderful you are documenting everything and it will be so much fun to look back on everything! My niece just turned 16 last month and my sister has been teaching her to drive! It's crazy how quickly the time goes! I remember when she was just a little girl on the swing set and I was trying to teach her how to pump her legs so that she could swing herself!

    1. Sure! Basically, I photograph them in natural indirect light with no flash. If it's in the afternoon, I put them on my kitchen table next to the direct sun coming in, but in the shaded part. If it's in the morning I don't get enough light coming in my window so I take them outside to the back porch in the shade. I photograph them straight down and try my best to take the picture level. Then I just crop them and adjust the white balance and exposure as needed in photoshop. Hope that helps. Feel free to email me with specific questions. You can find my email at the bottom of my about me page.
