studio calico reveal: neverland

It's time for the reveal of Neverland, the March kits at Studio Calico! I made more with this kit than I've been able to in a while. There were no illnesses, no Christmas festivities to distract me, and no out of town trips so I was able to focus on my kits a bit more. I made four Project Life spreads, four layouts and even a card!

This month I got the main scrapbook kit, card kit, Project Life kit, and three add-ons - Tink (#1), Lost Boys (#2) and Hook (#4). The colors are so beautiful this month. I loved all of the blues and greens and the stamps are my favorite from any Studio Calico kit ever!

Oh and one more thing before I share my projects - there's a change at Studio Calico. The design team gallery will now go live at early reveal so even if you're not a subscriber you can see the design team projects at noon Eastern time on the 27th of the month (which is the same time subscribers can start shopping). Shopping for non-subscribers starts at midnight Eastern on the night of the 27th.

So here are the Project Life spreads I made with Neverland - clicking on the image will take you to that spread in the Studio Calico gallery where you will find detail photos and a list of kits/products used.

Week 2 (Project Life kit only)
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5

I'll be sharing the regular layouts I made with Neverland soon!

studio calico: here and there

Studio Calico's new release, Here & There, is such a fun collection! The colors, patterns and embellishments are just awesome! I used it to make a couple of layouts this weekend with photos from a vacation a few years back.

On the first one I used the Sundrifter Love This and Frame and Feathers stamp sets with Hero Arts charcoal ink. And the little hearts are from the Here & There Cats and Dogs stamp set. The "Oh Happy Day" part of the title was cut from one of the 4x6 cards in the Here & There Journal Cards set. I totally forgot about journaling on this page. I have a bad habit of completely finishing my page and then thinking about where I want to add journaling. As soon as I find my notes about how long this canoe trip lasted, I'll probably add a couple of sentences written very small under the photo on the left.

On this one I even used my Mister Hueys. I've been in a misting mood lately. And I remembered to journal this time! I used the more grid cards available at Studio Calico. They come in a set of 60 square cards for $4.99. There are four different grid designs in three different colors. They are for Project Life, but also perfect for adding to a layout. I cut the card in half so it would fit better. The "You Are Awesome" part of this title also came from one of the Here & There journal cards. The only part of this layout that is not from the Here & There collection is the wood veneer. The # sign is from the Snippets collection and the "life is good" circle is from the Sundrifter collection.

Don't forget - only two more days until the beautiful March kits go on sale at Studio Calico! I have a lot to share this week so be sure and check back. I've linked up some of the products I used in my Here & There layouts below.

They are so fun and colorful and have really awesome stamps too! I got the main kit, card kit, Project Life kit and three add-ons this month and I've had a lot of fun creating with everything. So far I've made four Project Life spreads, two layouts and even a card (the first one in a very long time)!

Here's a peek at the card I made with the stamp set of add-on two.

crate paper: love red

Today starts Creative Weekly over at the Crate Paper blog! There will be lots of inspiration shared from the design team and also a challenge with a fabulous prize so check it out!

The theme this month is "Love Red", a theme that is perfect for me because I seem to work at least a little red into almost every layout I make. My layout is about me and Gary using Crate Paper's beautiful Fourteen collection. It's the first time I've ever made a Valentine's layout! And I rarely use black and white photos, but this time I wanted the lovely colors of these papers and embellishments to stand out. My title is cut with my Cameo using this design from the Silhouette store. I also did a little misting this time in grey and red!

I'm very excited to have been asked to join the Crate Paper Design Team for 2013 and I'm so looking forward to working with their gorgeous collections!

scrapbook layout: hello camping

Hi guys! I have a layout to share with you today made with the Studio Calico Front Row kits. Only the Big Screen and Matinee add-ons are still available, but they are both fabulous! I absolutely love this photo that my brother in law texted me after he spent the night in the tent with some of the cousins on our camping trip last fall. He captured the entire early morning scene with the cousins having breakfast at the picnic table. He's such a good dad and uncle to do fun things with the kids (even though it was extra cold that night)!!
