layouts from studio calico cuppa kits

So far I've made two layouts with my Studio Calico Cuppa kits, along with the Project Life spreads I shared here. These kits have the most gorgeous colors and I used my recent favorite combination - shades of oranges with greens/blues on these two!

This layout started with the deer that was part of the printable digital files this month. I cut it out with my Silhouette, and I used a photo from a weekend trip to a state park that we take every fall. The journaling is hidden on the tag. I am loving adding letterpress elements to my layouts! The labels, ampersand, camera and "love" were all created with my letterpress plates.

This next layout was created with a similar color palette with a photo of Mason that I took just before his 16th birthday. Most of what I used on this layout came from the Chai add on except for the chalkboard frame paper which was in the Cuppa main scrapbook kit.

The "I Love This" stamp is in the main kit, and was designed by one of my favorite digital designers, Peppermint Granberg. So happy to get some of her designs in this month's kits!

studio calico reveal: cuppa

It's reveal day at Studio Calico for the November kits, Cuppa! Subscribers can start shopping now, and non subscribers can start shopping tonight at midnight Eastern time. I absolutely love the Cuppa kits, and I had so much fun putting together my spreads this month! The stamps are amazing. There are so many great designs. The patterned papers are some of my favorites too... so many beautiful colors!

The Peppermint stamp add on is Christmas themed and was designed by Kal Barteski. I love it and will be using it as part of my December Daily album this year...

My favorite add on this month is Chai. Great stamps and gorgeous papers (both sides!). Love the embellishments too!

I made three weekly spreads for recent weeks and one Christmas morning spread to add to my 2012 Project Life album. Clicking on the image will take you to the Studio Calico gallery where you can read a description and see which kits I used to create each spread.

I hope you enjoy this month's kits as much as I did!

scrapbook layout: camera love

I finally had a chance to play with Maggie Holmes' Flea Market collection by Crate Paper. There are so many delightful elements and lovely colors in this beautiful collection! I created this layout about my favorite vintage camera in my small collection.

Check out other projects on the Crate Paper blog!

Process by Catherine Davis

Catherine Davis is amazing. Her layouts are always unique. I just marvel at her creativity and the awesome designs she comes up with... my mind does not work that way. :) I'm so excited that she's teaching a class at Big Picture Classes called Process and really happy that I was able to contribute in a small way.

Click here for more information, but first watch this video... and then you'll totally understand what I mean. Can't wait for class to start!

scrapbook layout: my boys with letterpress

Studio Calico started designing letterpress plates recently and I'm so glad they did! I'm having so much fun with this. Letterpress is a process in which an impression is made into the paper along with ink resulting in a beautiful textured design. All you need to get started is the letterpress platform bundle, a manual die cut machine, some ink and plates. Studio Calico has some really great designs which is why I knew I wanted to try this!

I created this layout with a photo of my boys back in 2008 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina using the Antiquary kits and some letterpress embellishments. The impression doesn't show up quite as well on photos, but in person you can really see the dimension of the designs.

The camera, "this" arrow, "happy thoughts" and strip of triangles are all letterpressed. I finished it off with some Mister Huey's mist in double yellow and sky. I'm really excited about this shade of blue... sky is finally the perfect blue I've been waiting for!
