one design, three cards

I didn't quite get to finish making everything I wanted to make with my Studio Calico Penny Arcade kits since I was on vacation for part of June so yesterday I decided to make a few more cards. I didn't have a lot of time so I came up with one design and quickly put together three cards!

Here's how the three cards came together:

  • cut three card bases at 5x4.25"
  • cut strips of my favorite patterned papers at 1.5x4.25"
  • cut some banner shapes
  • gathered together various embellishments, dies, stamps and sentiments

And here are the three cards I came up with using the Penny Arcade card kit and the Pinball card add-on.

The awesome die cut and totally stamp are part of a die/stamp set combo from Studio Calico found here.

The hello friend stamp is part of the Churros stamp add-on set. (you can see another card I made with the cute tomato stamp here)

The best wishes stamp and the flower cabochon are part of the Pinball card add-on.

If you have a few leftovers and you're short on time, try sticking with one design for multiple cards. And have fun!

It's time for the reveal of the Studio Calico Penny Arcade kits! Subscriber reveal is going on now, but if you're not a subscriber kits will be available tonight at midnight Eastern time. The creative team gallery is live now so you can see all the gorgeous projects made with the kits and add-ons this month!

Here's a look at what I made this month - a Project Life spread and four cards. I used the main Project Life kit, the card kit, the pinball add-on, and the churros stamp add-on

studio calico penny arcade sneaks

The reveal of the Studio Calico Penny Arcade kits is in just a couple days! In the mean time, last month's Hello Hello kits are still available here. For now, I have a few sneaks of the Penny Arcade kits to share with you! The main card kit stamps are my favorite this time. Who doesn't love a hedgehog, right?!!

scrapbook layout: so happy

Today I'm sharing a layout I made for the Studio Calico blog. My assignment was to make something inspired by pinterest. I found this lovely layout on Studio Calico's pinterest boards by the June guest designer, Rahel Menig (see her blog and beautiful photography here). I loved the simplicity and some of the unique elements like hand-written details on little hand-cut banners, and the splattering of dots of glitter (I used sequins instead).

Here's Rahel's beautiful layout...

I used mostly my Camelot scrapbook kit on my version of her layout, except for the alphas which I've had a few years, and the word strip stickers which were from the Project Life Lancelot add on.

I really should scraplift more often. It gives me a head start, and makes the whole process a lot of fun!
