happy birthday card

Today's card is for my niece who happens to love dogs. I bought the Paper Smooches Santa Paws stamp set not only for the santa and reindeer, but also for the really cute dog!

I stamped the dog with Ranger Archival ink on watercolor paper, and colored him in with distress markers. I scribbled on an acrylic block and painted him with a small paintbrush. The "happy" is cut from a Studio Calico die, and the patterned papers are from older Studio Calico card kits. The base and the panel are cut with the two largest of the Lawn Fawn large stitched rectangle dies. I love these dies. I've used them on every card lately!

I also stamped the gift directly onto the background and colored it with distress markers. The colors I used on the dog and gift are wild honey, vintage photo and festive berries.
